 Dell and HP adopt Broadcom technology to remotely manage enterprise PC network

Broadcom Corporation's NetXtreme BCM5761 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) controller is based on TruManage technology are adopted by Dell and HP in their PCs. Through these Ethernet controllers IC the PCs can be remotely managed to configure them in energy saving modes.
Dell and HP have used these devices and technologies in their systems to securely manage them from one terminal.
BCM5761 GbE controller supports DASH (Desktop and Mobile Architecture for System Hardware) and the PMCI (Platform Management Component Intercommunication) protocols to manage PCs from different manufacturers across multiple locations using a common framework and tools. Some of the interesting features includes, software updates and security patches can be deployed during 'off-peak' hours to minimize user downtime while providing support for common features such as remote power, boot control and system status monitoring.
