S-LCD aims to become world's largest
large screen LCD maker by 2007.
S-LCD, a joint venture company of Samsung
and Sony to make large screen LCDs of size greater than 40"
is progressing faster in terms of sales and infrastructure.
It's installing a 8th generation LCD plant to make LCDs of
size 52" for Samsung and Sony LCD TVs. 7th Generation
facilty is already producing millions of 40" displays
and will be ramping up prduction with the 8th generation facility,
which will be ready by fall2007.
At a rate of, 140K mother glass substrate processing per month,
the company aims to reach number one position in making large
screen LCDs.
