Freescale and IBM agree to research jointly to transit into 45nm nodes and lower

Freescale has signed an agreement with IBM to join IBM technology Alliance for joint semiconductor research and development. Both the companies will jointly research on Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS), Silicon on Insulator (SOI), and 45nm node process. Freescale's market understanding and IBM's most advanced research capabilities will be an unmatchable combination. The old PowerPC partnership between these companies is well known.

As the content moving more into multimedia, the market demands power media processors with some new breakthrough processor architectures for the wide range of market including tiny RFID, embedded, security, and process thirsty servers. Applications are also equally wide like consumer, automotive, communication, wireless, industrial, computers and networking.

Let's wait for this combination to generate few new technology abbreviations/words and make few technology abbreviations/words obsolete.
