ST Micro gets one NAND license from Samsung.

ST Micro has licensed Samsung's flash semiconductor memory technology called OneNAND to make memory ICs for mobile applications. As per agreement, ST will support Samsung's OneNAND from early 2007. NAND flash memory demerits in comparison to NOR are solved through this technology of OneNAND, where NAND, SRAM and few logic elements are integrated to provide NOR type access. The data read speed of OneNAND is 108MByte/sec which is four times faster than NAND flash. Write speed is at 10Mbyte which is 46 times faster. The application in mobile phones can be launched faster using one NAND.
