Fairchild Semi to buy System General of Taiwan.

Fairchild is launching a tender offer to acquire 100% of outstanding shares of System General, a Taiwan based power semiconductor IC maker.
System General makes Power ICs for PCs, laptops and computer peripherals. Some of the well-known products of System General are PWM power controllers, PC mother board power supply ICs, Power Factor Correction (PFC) Controllers.

With this acquisition, Fairchid can get huge pie out of Taiwan's power IC market share. With the broad portfolio of power products, Fairchild will rank higher in comparison to it's competitors in this growing market segment.
Fairchild will add another $40 million (approximate) revenue to its total revenue.
