KPIT Cummins and VaST team up to deliver virtualization tools for automotive apps

VaST and KPIT Cummins Infosystems are partnering to deliver electronic virtualization tools and specialized services to global automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers and ODMs.

KPIT in collaboration with VaST will provide simulation models for peripheral functions and microcontrollers that enable development of software on virtual platforms.

The growth of electronics content in automobiles is triggering increased design- complexity and as result the hardware and software development cycles are getting stretched. To enhance the design productivity and to ensure the quality and reliability of electronics systems, the automotive electronic companies are adopting virtualization and simulation.

"Design methodologies are undergoing rapid change at leading OEM's and Tier 1's. Consistently, we see a need for specialized highly skilled services and software IP to help accelerate adoption of virtualization methodologies. KPIT Cummins has both the skills and customer traction and is therefore an ideal partner," said Alain Labat, chief executive officer of VaST.
