    AMD appoints Ramkumar Subramanian as sales and marketing VP for India and SAARC Region

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has appointed Ramkumar Subramanian as sales and marketing Vice President for India and SAARC region. India is a key market for AMD. To expand further in India, Ramkumar is given the task of aggressively marketing AMD's products to broad range of customers in India.

Ramkumar was director of corporate development before moving to this new position and was responsible for initiatives in China, Brazil and Russia.

Ian Williams, Corporate VP of Asia Pacific region has said, "He is uniquely qualified to steer AMD India during this next, very significant phase of expansion."

On his appointment, Ramkumar said, "It is a great time to be back in India in such an exciting position, and I see this as an opportunity to build on the several achievements of the team. I can use my experience and relationships to strengthen India's global presence and AMD's continued success." This REC, Tiruchirapalli graduate is an inventor of more than one hundred of AMD's patents and pending applications in semiconductor process technology.

Ramkumar holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Michigan State University, an MBA from Duke University.
