Tata Elxsi develops a fast booting and fast start-up automotive Linux for infotainment

Automotive grade Linux (AGL) operating system is selected by some of the automotive OEMs due to the lower cost of ownership. Infotainment is one of the key areas where AGL is explored.

Bengaluru, India based electronics product design services company Tata Elxsi has developed solutions based on AGL where it has addressed specific issues and challenges such as boot-time optimisation and fast start-up. The infotainment systems inside the car needs to not only boot up immediately, but also needs to display the video in real time, . Tata Elxsi is trying to address this issue by developing a faster Linux OS.

Tata Elxsi has recently demonstrated in full-time and solutions based on automotive grade Linux at an Automotive Linux Summit held on 13th & 14th July in Hotel Chinzan-so conference centre, Japan and also presented technical approaches on boot-time, Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
