Low-cost VGA image sensor for consumer applications

If your application is a cost optimised solution where a VGA resolution image sensor will serve the needs of image capturing, check out this low-power and low cost and a compact image sensor chip from OmniVision.

OVM7699 CameraCubeChip and OV7699 CameraChip target wide range of applications, including feature phones, mainstream smartphones, notebooks, wearables and IoT devices, and others.

The OVM7699 is suitable for slim form-factor designs. OV7699 is available in a chip-scale package (CSP).

The 1/13-inch OVM7699 and OV7699 utilize the latest 1.75-micron OmniBSI+ pixel architecture to deliver images with better signal-to-noise ratio, high-end sensitivity, full-well capacity, and distortion correction. OVM7699 and OV7699 VGA (640 x 480 pixel) resolution images and video at 30 frames per second (FPS).

The OVM7699 comes in a 2.1 mm x 2.1 mm CameraCubeChip module with a z-height of approximately 2.3 mm, while the OV7699 comes in a 2.03 mm x 2.08 mm CSP. Both the OVM7699 and the OV7699 are currently available for sampling, and are expected to enter volume production in the first quarter of 2016.
