SCADE and Deos RTOS integrated for safety critical applications development

Date: 19/06/2015
DDC-I and Ansys have integrated Deos RTOS from DDC-I with ANSYS' SCADE modelling software. DO-178 Level A certifiable Deos OS Supports popular processor architecture such as x86, PowerPC, ARM and MIPS cores.

Modelling tool ANSYS SCADE System is used for embedded software simulation and code writing for safety and security critical systems in applications such as aerospace, rail transportation, nuclear and industrial applications. The availability of the integrated Deos as well as ANSYS SCADE helps safety critical focus embedded software engineers to take advantage of an integrated solution that addresses all phases of modeling, simulation, verification, optimization, code generation, compliance with ARINC 661, RTOS integration, and certification for DO-178C avionics applications.

“We're excited to be working with ANSYS to make our best-in-class safety-critical Deos RTOS available to SCADE users”, said Greg Rose, vice president of marketing and product management at DDC-I. “Now SCADE users can target an RTOS that has been built from the ground up for DO-178C applications, and take advantage of advanced features like slack scheduling and cache partitioning that reduce worst-case response while boosting overall performance.”

“We are pleased to partner with DDC-I, opening the possibility of using SCADE to the many Deos users in the safety-critical aeronautics industry,” said Eric Bantegnie, vice president of the System Business Unit at ANSYS. “This integration enhances our ability to provide a best-in-class solution for DO-178C applications.”

Software programmers can transform their models into C and/or Ada code that is ready to run under Deos, and ready to certify for DO-178C by using SCADE Suite's and SCADE Display's code generation technology. The code generation DO-178C Certification Kit provides all the material required by DO-178C certification authorities, including a Tool Qualification Plan (TQP), Tool Operational Requirements (TOR), Tool Accomplishment Summary (TAS) or Safety Case (SC), Compliance Analysis to certification standards, Software Installation Procedure (SIP), and Tool Configuration Index (TCI).

Deos offers time and space partitioned RTOS by using patented 'slack scheduling' and cache partitioning to deliver faster worst-case response and higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS, says DDC -1.
