Smartphone controlled thermostat by Netatmo powered by Broadcom' chip

Broadcom has announced that Netatmo is using Broadcom Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED) Wi-Fi technology in its smartphone-controlled thermostat by French designer Philippe Starck.

Netatmo's Thermostat are controlled using smartphone app so that users can control the home temperatures from anywhere and anytime. Netatmo Thermostat adapts to the user's lifestyle and adjusts automatically to provide optimal temperatures throughout the day and night.

Nest, a company recently acquired by Google has pioneered Internet controlled thermostat technology. The smart thermostat automatically turns to an energy-efficient temperatures by studying the users needs.
