DisplayPort certified transmitter and receiver from Analogix

Analogix Semiconductor has launched SlimPort-4K transmitter, ANX7816 and the SlimPort-4K receiver, ANX7738 for sharing content from their mobile devices on external displays at up to 4K Ultra-HD resolution, with 3D graphics and audio.

Analogix’s high-speed, ultra-low power SlimPort-4K transmitter ANX7816 is in mass production and the SlimPort-4K receiver ANX7738 is sampling.

SlimPort components and adaptors are DisplayPort (DP1.2/MyDP1.0) certified. The DisplayPort standard provides for even higher frequencies and Analogix is already developing the next generation of SlimPort transmitters that will support 4K at 60 frames per second – which provides the smooth, life-like cinematic experience desired by movie viewers.

“With SlimPort-4K the video output capabilities of smart phones and tablets surpass that of most mainstream Blu-ray video players,” said Andre Bouwer, vice president of Marketing for Analogix. “This gives smart phone owners the flexibility to watch movies on their small screen when on the go, or on the big screen when at home and recharging their batteries without compromising video quality.”

The SlimPort-4K transmitters and receivers have versions supporting the latest High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP2.2) encryption standard, so content owners are assured their copyrights are secure.
