Date: 27/01/2013
Sonix Technology has introduced a new series of HD web cam chips, the SN9C280/281 series, which are designed to work with the next-gen Haswell architecture processor which was released by Intel in CES 2013.

The SN9C280/281 is based on the Haswell architecture and has built-in LPM L1 in USB controller. USB controller incorporate Low Power Management L1 design to save power.

SN9C280/281 consume low bandwidth and systems resources during video conferencing enabling the CPU to reach C7. The current consumption is said to be below 30 mA during standby modes. The built-in clock synthesizer improves efficiency further.

SN9C280/281 series supports 720P (HD) CMOS sensor and also supports up to 1080 P (Full HD) sensor. The series of SN9C280/281 equipped with MIPI and Parallel two types of interface. The series with MIPI interface also can support tablet PC that provide more variety choices for customers.

The series of SN9C280/281 are packaged with 32 pin QFN.
