Micrium introduces µC/TimeSpaceOS
Micrium has unveiled the µC/TimeSpaceOS to enable
complex segments of software with a variety of safety levels
to be executed on a single core. Micrium's µC/TimeSpaceOS
can manage both memory and time allocated to diverse applications.
Micrium has also expanded its existing safety-critical products
with non-safety critical complex middleware such as TCP-IP,
File System (FS) and USB. The µC/TimeSpaceOS is suggested
for use with small microcontrollers having 64KB of RAM such
as PowerPC and Cortex-A9 equipped with megabytes RAM.
"Micrium's µC/TimeSpaceOS is an elegant solution
that uses a memory management unit (MMU) in a unique way,"
said Jean Labrosse, founder, president and CEO of Micrium.
"µC/TimeSpaceOS simplifies MMU use, taking a
complex piece of hardware and requiring that only time and
memory allocation be identified. Application development
becomes substantially easier with its use, resulting in
cost and time-to-market benefits."
The µC/TimesSpaceOS addresses safety-critical market
segments as avionics, medical, transportation, and industrial
applications. It provides features such as:
--Memory protection so that applications can be executed
so that multiple applications cannot influence, disturb
or interact with each other
--Runtime guarantee so that runtime performance can be anticipated
at any time (deterministic)
--Configurable in that virtual Dynamic Random Access Memory
(DRAM) is optionally available.
--A small footprint for use in a wide-range of applications
--Is compatinle with the protected segment in existing uC/OS-II
applications.
Price: Priced at less than US$30,000.
