Series of Class 1 and Class 2 Bluetooth
modules from Fujitsu
Fujitsu has released the MBH7BTZ series of Class 1 and
Class 2 Bluetooth modules that Fujitsu claims allows designers
to easily and cost-effectively add wireless capability to
their designs. These devices feature embedded Serial Port
Profile (SPP) firmware, a compact footprint and a broad
command/event list to simplify and reduce integration time
while meeting a wide variety of performance requirements.
The MBH7BTZ Class 1 and Class 2 modules offer a compact
footprint. For example, a surface mount MBH7BTZ39 Class
2 module measures just 12.4 x 9.4 x 1.5mm. These modules
are suggested for applications such as handheld terminals,
mobile printers, scanners, barcode readers, portable health
care and industrial control devices, and any Bluetooth-enabled
devices for simple cable replacement. The MBH7BTZ series
is compliant with Bluetooth Specification Version 2.1 +
EDR and RoHS directive. It supports UART (9.6k~1,382.4kbps)
as the host interface, and communication distances of 10
- 30meters (Class 2) and up to 100meters (Class 1).
To facilitate integration, the modules do not require any
in-host Protocol Stack. These products are Bluetooth certified
as 'End Product (QDID: B16068),' allowing SIG members to
acquire Bluetooth certification without any charge.
The MBH7BTZ series includes shielded, SMT modules either
with an onboard antenna or with an external antenna.
