Battery Charger, Step down DC/DC Converter, and LDO in one IC in a tiny 3x4mm  package for tiny portables from Analogic Tech.

Anlogic Tech’s AAT2554 integrates 500 mA battery charger, 250 mA DC/DC Converter and 300mA Low Drop Out Voltage Regulator in a single IC for  low power poratable Li-ion battery operated applications such as bluetooth headset, and GPS devices.
Can charge efficiently a single Li Ion cell and power few logic and analog ICs including a Microcontroller.

Battery charger can handle a input range of  4.0V to 6.5 V while the step down converter and LDO can handle 2.7V to 5.5 V.
Battery charger has reverse blocking protection, charge status, charge termination functions.
Quite small inductor of 1mm height is required for 250mA output at step down converter. LDO has a low quiescent current of 70 uA, featuring short circuit, over temperature and current limit protection circuits.

The volume supply available now in a lead free 16 pin 3x4 mm TDFN package.
Cost: US$2.14 each in 1K quantities.
