Advantech's AMC cards support latest 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo processor

Advantech's Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMC) product line now supports Intel's latest 45nm Core 2 Duo processor SL9380 (1.8 GHz) coupled with Intel's 3100 chip set, an integrated memory and I/O controller.

The mid-size MIC-5602A2 PrAMC supports the latest 45nm embedded SKU with 17W thermal design power (TDP), and doubles onboard memory options to 4GB with ECC. When coupled with an ATCA form factor carrier or integrated within a MicroTCA chassis, the new modules are ideally suited for applications requiring scalable multi-processor clustering or intelligent co-processor engines for protocol offload, host media processing, encryption/decryption, content and packet processing.

With this addition, telecom OEMs can now optimize their s/w investments by redeploying across a wider range of processors on a common core PrAMC design.

The key features of the MIC-5602 board are:
One GigE port (RJ-45), one USB 2.0 port, and one console port (mini-USB) to front panel
AMC connector routes two GbE serdes and two SATA ports
USB (x2), dual PCIe x4, or single PCIe x8
Boot from network, CompactFlash, SATA, USB or onboard flash disk
Supports IPMI v1.5 and Serial-over-LAN function
AMC.0, AMC.1, AMC.2 and AMC.3 compliant
