NXP launched two new HS-CAN transceivers for automotive ECUs

The new HS-CAN transceivers TJA1042 and TJA1051 by NXP Semiconductors can transfer data up to 1Mbit/s and are approved by major European and North American car manufacturers. These CAN transceivers are used to link Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to other units through CAN bus in automotives

Key features of these transceiver ICs are,

1. Produce low Electromagnetic Emissions (EME) and offer greater protection against ringing effects.
2. ESD performance of ±8kV according to the IEC 61000-4-2 standard
3. Disengage from the bus when they are not powered on or are operating in a 'low power' mode.
4. Predictable under-voltage behavior simplifies the design of systems that incorporate Start-Stop     functionality.
5. RoHS-compliant and no presence of halogenated flame retardants (known as Dark Green).

These ISO 11898-2 compliant transceivers are qualified to the appropriate Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) standard Q100 and are suitable for use in automotive applications.
