Three new DC-DC Converter
ICs for LED lamp applications
Texas Instruments has released three new power conversion
ICs. They are high-power DC/DC boost LED driver (TPS61500)
and high-voltage DC/DC boost converter (TPS61175), and a
step-down DC/DC converter (TPS62110). These devices can
support input voltages of up to 18-V and feature smaller
voltage references for improved LED circuit design. These
devices are suitable for LED applications such as signage,
ambient light, office light, general illumination, military,
medical and sensors.
Key features and technical specifications of TPS61500 are,
1. 2.9-V to 18-V input voltage range
2. 3.0-A current switch with integrated FET
3. Four 3-W LEDs from 5 Vin
4. Eight 3-W LEDs from 12 Vin
5. 200 kHz to 2.2 MHz switching frequency
6. Brightness dimming
7. User-defined soft start
8. 93 percent efficiency
