Programmable DC electronic
rheostats up to 5000 Watts
B&K Precision has added eight additional models to
its line of programmable DC electronic loads. The 8500 family
of programmable DC electronic loads are suitable for characterizing
and testing DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries,
fuel cells, and photovoltaic solar cells.
The electrical ratings of 8500 series are, power ratings
of 300 W to 5000 W, current ratings of 30 A to 240 A, and
the voltage rating of 60 V to 500 V.
The 8500 series DC elctronics loads (rheostats) can operate
in CC, CV, CR or CP mode while voltage/current or resistance/power
values are measured and displayed in real time. The load
terminals are isolated and floating. Extensive protection,
including over temperature, over power, over voltage, over
current and reverse polarity will help protect your valuable
prototype. All parameters can be set quickly and precisely
from the front panel, or programmed via RS232 (included)
or USB (optional) interfaces.
Other features of the 8500 series programmable DC electronic
loads include:
1. Low minimum operating voltage of < 0.1 V and low input
resistance (model 8518) allows the load to sink
high current at low voltages, required for fuel and PV solar
cell applications design.
