Compact panel potentiometers
with dielectric strength of 5000 VRMS
Vishay Intertechnology has released two new compact panel
potentiometers with high dielectric strength of 5,000 VRMS,
cermet and conductive plastic elements, and a wide variety
of modules and terminal styles.
With their 12.5-mm size, the new P11P and P11D offer designers
a compact alternative to other low-cost panel potentiometers.
The P11P's cermet element provides better stability than
carbon elements, while the conductive plastic element of
the P11D offers a reduced electrical noise for audio applications.
Both devices feature a 5,000-VRMS dielectric strength for
greater reliability, robustness, and corrosion protection,
and offer insulated plastic shafts and bushing, with value-added
options in accordance with drawings supplied by customers.
The versatile panel potentiometers offer a wide range of
configurations for control panel applications in welding
machines, air conditioning units, tooling machines, medical
systems, and X-ray equipment. The devices feature up to
seven modules, two shaft lengths, and 29 terminal styles.
Offered in shaft and panel-sealed versions, the P11P and
P11D provide up to 21 indent positions along with rotary
switch options.
The new Vishay Sfernice devices offer a typical operating
torque from 0.3 oz. to 1.4 oz. per inch, and an end stop
torque of 6.8 lb. per inch. The potentiometers provide a
resistance range from 20 O to 10 MO with a typical contact
resistance variation down to 1 %, and TCR down to ±150
ppm/°C. Tested in accordance to CECC41 000, the devices
offer an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +100
°C to ensure reliable operation even in extreme environments.
