SoC with CMOS sensor from NEC Electronics
for camera phones
NEC Electronics has introduced the CE151, a new system-on-chip
(SoC), an image processing device that provides clear and
high-quality images for camera phones comparable to digital-still
cameras (DSCs).
The new CE151 SoC allows mobile phones to output full-HD
(1080-pixel) video stream and still image data up to 13
megapixels received by the CMOS sensor. The Camera Engine
Software Platform is designed for re-usability with a command-layer
application-programming interface (API).
The key features of the CE151 SoC are,
Improved noise-reduction function
Low power consumption by approximately 25 %
Reduced energy consumption of approximately 25 percent from
the existing CE143 products
Supports SpeedTags technology to eliminate shutter lag
Improved image-stabilizing function
NEC Electronics says that the CE151 is backward compatible
with its previous CE series supports a smooth transition
for existing customers to provide high performance and functionality
in mobile phones.
