Low dropout voltage linear regulator IC
for portable battery-powered systems
Linear has introduced the LT3060, a new micropower, low
dropout voltage (LDO) linear regulator IC that delivers
up to 100mA continuous output current with a 300mV dropout
voltage at full load. The LT3060 IC is suitable for portable
battery-powered systems, automotive, industrial, and avionic
power supplies.
The key features of the LT3060 IC are,
Input voltage ranges from 1.6V to 45V
Adjustable output voltages from 0.6V to 44.5V
100mA of output current
40µA of quiescent current
300mV of dropout voltage
30µVRMS (10Hz to 100kHz) of low noise
Adjustable output of VREF = 600mV
Output tolerance: ±2% over line, load and temperature
Single capacitor soft-starts reference and low output noise
< 1µA of shutdown current
The LT3060 IC operates with a small, low cost, ceramic
output capacitor, optimizing stability and transient response.
It is stable with only a 2.2uF output capacitor. These tiny
external capacitors can be used without the necessary addition
of series resistance (ESR) as is common with many other
regulators. The LT3060's internal protection circuitry includes
reverse-battery protection, reverse-output protection, reverse-current
protection, current limit with foldback and thermal limiting.
