Intersil's new LDO takes care of deep rise/fall of battery voltage.

Intersil's ISL9003, low dropout voltage regulator in 1.6mm x 1.6mm footprint microTDFN package can deliver 150mA of continuous output current with input voltage of 2.3V to 6.5V.
Due to it's high PSRR of 90dB @ 1KHz and low output noise of 20 uVRMS, this device can handle the switching transients better during steep load variations.
The dropout voltage is 200mV/150mA and quiescent current is  30 micro Amps.
The filter capacitor can be a low cost 4.7 micro-farad ceramic capacitor rather than electrolytic or tantalum.
Current limiting and overheating protection are provided inside the chip.

Package: 5 lead SC70 and  1.6mm x 1.6mm  uTDFN.

RoHS compliance: Yes

Applications: Cellphone and Media Players

Listed Price: ISL9003A: $1.27 each in 1K quantities

Availability: Now in volumes
