New series of power entry modules from Tyco for Rack mount equipment

Tyco Electronics has expanded its Corcom power entry modules portfolio with the addition of new CU series that includes small-sized versions of switched filtered and unfiltered power inlets. The CU series offers 15 filtered and eight unfiltered versions, and suitable for rack mounted equipment, telecom consumer electronics, data communication, power supplies, PC's, and lighting applications.

The key features of the new CU series are,

Compact 1U (1 ¾ inch) design
Filtered and unfiltered
SPST switch
Shrouded quick-connect
Lower power dissipation

Tyco says, the shrouded quick-connect terminals eliminate the need for soldered connections, which helps reduce installation time. The series allows high system efficiency by contributing less heat making it suitable for applications with power or cooling limitations.

The CU series modules offer flush-mount, flange, and snap-in mounting styles. Current ratings range from 1 to 15 Amps and the product is UL recognized, CSA certified and VDE approved. The 15 Amp versions tested by Underwriters Laboratories to U.S. and Canadian standards are VDE approved for a 10 Amp rating.
