Boost type DC/DC converter with Low EMI

Micrel has released MIC2250 a high efficiency, low electromagnetic interface boost type DC/DC converter for Li-Ion battery powered systems.

The key specifications of this device are,

90 percent peak efficiency.
At light loads 1mA, the device maintains 83 percent efficient.
Supports an adjustable output voltage up to 32V.
Produce up to 250mA of continuous output current at 15V from a 5V input supply.
The MIC2250 features a user selectable dither mode to reduce peak switching EMI noise by 10dB.
Operating input supply range from 2.5V to 5.5V.
Output accuracy +/- 3.0 percent.
Other features include under voltage lockout, soft start, and thermal shutdown.

"The MIC2250 delivers exceptional efficiency across an incredibly wide output current range from under 1mA to 300mA with output voltages up to 32V," noted Andy Khayat, Micrel's director of marketing for portable products. Combined with the low EMI and an extremely small MLF package, the device provides a worry free design with a compact solution."

Package: tiny 2mm x 2mm exposed pad MLF

Price: Each $0.56 for 1K pieces.
