Shunt resistance of 100 micro ohms for battery driven-high current applications

Vishay has announced new Power Metal Strip battery shunt resistor with 36-W power capability in the 8518 size package. These WSBS8518 shunt resistors are available at resistance values of 100 µ ohms, 125 µ ohms, and 250 µ ohms. The suitable applications are automotives, electric cars, electric forklifts and other heavy industrial applications.

WSBS8518 feature a tolerance of 5.0 % to achieve accurate battery charging and discharging.

The WSBS8518 can handle continuous currents upto 600 Amps. The resistor offers low inductance values of < 5 nH and a low thermal EMF of < 3 µV/°C. The device is lead (Pb)-free and RoHS-compliant.
