Thick film resistors with tolerance of 0.5% and TCR of ±50ppm/ºC

Taiwan based passive component leader Yageo has rolled out RE series precision thick film resistors for precision applications. The new RE series suitable for applications including measuring instruments, industrial controls, medical treatment, broadband communication and consumer electronics. Yageo has sent sample devices to major customers with mass production underway.

Yageo's new RE series offered in sizes of 0402/0603/0805/1206 and comes with temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of ±50ppm/ºC and tolerance ratio of 0.5% making them suitable for precision resistance components.

Mr. Vincent Hu, President of Yageo Global Sales Business Group said, "There is an increasing demand for precision resistors in electronic consumer devices. The heat generated in a crammed circuit board has presented complicated challenges to engineers of multifunctional gadgets. Resistors possessing precision tolerance and ultra-low temperature coefficient characteristics are one of the most effective solutions and are available mostly in existing thin film resistors. Yageo has overcome major material limitations through process innovation to commercialize precision thick film resistors. The new RE series will expand Yageo's reach to meet customers' dynamic applications as well as to consolidate our position in specialty market."
