A 3-channel ESD-protection diode array from Maxim for portable devices

Maxim has introduced the MAX14541E, a low-capacitance ±15kV ESD-protection diode array to protect sensitive electronics attached to communication lines, each channel consists of a pair of diodes that steer ESD current pulses to VCC or GND. The MAX14541E is suitable for glucose meters, cell phones, media players, PDAs, and other portable applications.

The key features of this 3-channel MAX14541E are,

High-speed data line ESD protection: A ±15kV human body model, ±15kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap discharge, and a ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge
6pF (typ) low input capacitance
1nA (max) low-leakage current
Input voltage ranges from +0.9V to +16V

The MAX14541E is a triple I/O protector designed for biometric connectors, portable connectors, and SVGA video connections with ultra-low leakage current.

Operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
Package: Lead-free, 2mm x 2.2mm, 5-pin SC70 package
Price: starts at $0.39 for 1k pieces
