High-speed sample-and-hold IC from Maxim for GPON optical line terminal systems

Maxim has introduced the DS1843, a new sample-and-hold IC that can capture signals of less than 300ns on its differential inputs and hold them at the output for up to 100µs. The DS1843 packs a differential, high-speed, switched-capacitor input sample stage, offset-nulling circuitry, and an output buffer. The DS1843 enables burst-by-burst RSSI measurement in GPON Optical Line Terminal (OLT) systems in conjunction with an external sense resistor.

The suggested applications for the DS1843 IC includes Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GEPON) OLT, GPON Optical Network Unit, Sample and Hold.

Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C

Package: 8-Pin µDFN (2mm x 2mm) Pb-free package
Price: Starts at $0.70 for 1k pieces
