New LDO regulator from Torex Semiconductor can work without output capacitor

Torex Semiconductor has introduced the XC6501, a series of low-supply current, high-speed LDO regulators that reduces the mounting area of about 44%, which don't need an output capacitor. The XC6501 series is suitable for use in mobile phones and other information communication devices that continue to become smaller and lighter.

The key features of XC6501 series are,

Stable operation is possible without an output capacitor
Contributes to space saving and component count reduction
High ripple rejection (50dB at f=1kHz, VOUT=2.8 V) at a low supply current (13 A at
VOUT=2.8V)
Includes an ON/OFF function, a current limiter (300mA, typical) and short-circuit protection circuit

The output voltage range is 1.2V to 5.0V (steps of 0.05V), the maximum output current is 200mA and the input voltage range is 1.4V to 6.0V. Internal phase compensation enables stable operation even without an output capacitor.

The suggested applications include portable games, camera modules, wireless LAN modules, LCD modules, bluetooth, and digital-TV tuners.

Package: USPN-4 (0.9mm x 1.2mm x h0.4mm) package
