Improved crystal oscillator clock modules with LVDS interface
from ON Semiconductor
ON Semiconductor has announced the expansion of its PureEdge
family of high accuracy crystal oscillator (XO) clock modules
that provide total frequency stability of ±50 parts
per million (ppm) and meet the clock generation requirements
in low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) and low-voltage
positive emitter coupled logic (LVPECL) designs.
The NBXzzzzzz series of single- and dual-frequency modules
provide ultra low jitter and ultra low phase noise LVDS
and LVPECL differential outputs respectively. The suggested
applications include frequency control and high accuracy
clock trees in high speed LAN and WAN networking equipment,
telecom base stations, storage systems and high-end computing
platforms.
All the new modules use a low frequency, high Q fundamental
mode crystal and analog Phase Lock Loop (PLL) multiplier
to provide the high accuracy single- or dual-output frequency.
Typical RMS phase jitter is at 0.5 picoseconds (ps) when
output Single Side Band (SSB) is integrated between 12 kilohertz
(kHz) and 20 megahertz (MHz).
The below table represents the NBXzzzzzz series with an
operating voltage range from 2.5V to 3.3V, with LVDS and
LVPECL interfaces.
