Mindspeed's dual-channel backplane equalizer and re-driver
for serial digital interface
Mindspeed has introduced the M21004, a dual-channel backplane
equalizer and re-driver with better jitter performance and
operate at any data rate up to 3.2Gbps with less than 50mW
power consumption per channel for serial digital interface
(SDI) in the broadcast video applications.
The M21004's each independent channel features pin-configurable
input equalization and output de-emphasis, enabling it to
compensate for losses accumulated across long traces and
connectors. In addition, an integrated, non-blocking 2x2
crosspoint switch provides the functions of signal splitting,
switching, and multiplexing with small form factor. And
it is a low-power multi-channel/rate chipset with dual-cable
equalizer and driver, and quad video reclocker.
"Mindspeed has been dedicated to providing solutions
for the signal-integrity challenges faced by broadcast video
equipment designers," said Kurt Busch, senior vice
president and general manager of Mindspeed's high-performance
analog products group. "With this device, we enable
system designers to achieve robust operation at data rates
up to 3Gbps, without the use of costly connectors, material
and components."
This low-power device features universal direct coupled
(DC) input interfaces, independent input and output supply
rails, eliminating the need for additional level shifters
on the board.
Package: 4mmx4mm, 24-pin quad flat no-lead (QFN) package
