ESD protection device with 100V breakdown for LED lamp applications

CMD has released CM1771, a new 100V breakdown voltage LuxGuard ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection device for high power, high brightness light emitting diode (HBLED) lighting applications.

CM1771 key specifications include,

Back-to-back zener diode configuration for bi-directional ESD protection
Safely dissipates ESD strikes of at least 6 KV, Human Body Model (HBM)
Top pad composition: Gold

The CM1771 ESD protection at high operating voltages delivering a high power dissipation during an ESD strike, and maintains low dynamic clamp voltages.

A silicon-based, side mount protection solution with a back-to-back electrical configuration, the LuxGuard CM1771 provides robust, symmetrical ESD protection and features a small, cost effective die that can be integrated into HBLED lamp modules.

Package: Compact flip chip package

Price: $0.05 per unit
Availability: In samples from October 2009
