New high speed SRAM family from Renesas targeting switches and routers

Renesas has released 72-Mbit Quad Data Rate II+ (QDR II+) and Double Data Rate II+ (DDRII+) high-speed SRAM product family made using 45nm fab. These devices can support high-speed processing for packet look-up and packet buffer applications in high-end routers and switchers that support 10G, 40G, and beyond multi-layer communication systems.

Key features and specifications of this SRAM family are,

1. Operate at speeds of 533 MHz for the QDRII+ and DDRII+ SRAM and 333 MHz for the QDRII and     DDRII versions.
2. Range of 72-Mbit devices supporting three data I/O widths (9, 18, or 36 bits) and two burst lengths (2     or 4 words).
3. Feature a built-in ODT (on-die termination) function to reduce the signal quality degradation that can     occur during high-speed operation.

Package: 165-lead plastic FBGA of size 15 mm × 17 mm
RoHS compliant: Yes
