Agilent's new audio analyzer measures
sound-quality influencing factors
Agilent's U8903A, the new audio analyzer quantifies characteristics
that affect sound quality in audio devices. The Agilent
U8903A is a replacement for its legacy 8903B audio analyzer.
The scalable, two-channel U8903A measures both at DC voltage
and in the frequnecy range of 10 Hz to 100 kHz. This audio
test equipment is suggested for wireless audio, analog components
and ICs, and consumer audio.
Compared to the 8903B, the U8903A offers wider frequency
coverage, expanded performance and greater functionality.
The new model also includes a graphical user interface (5.7-inch
color display) and one-button selection of major operating
modes. For automated applications, an application note describes
compatible equivalent commands and provides sample test
programs comparing the old R2D2 codes with new U8903A SCPI
commands.
"For nearly two decades, the 8903B provided unparalleled
versatility and performance in audio applications. Today,
the U8903A builds on that legacy," said Ee Huei Sin,
vice president and general manager of Agilent's Basic Instruments
Division. "On the bench or in a test system, the accuracy
and versatility of the U8903A will help our customers make
a measurable difference in the performance of their end
products."
For a limited time, Agilent is offering a 20-percent discount
on the purchase of a U8903A when the customer trades in
a legacy HP 8903B. This makes it possible to purchase a
two-channel analyzer for the price of today's typical single-channel
units. Detailed information about the discount program is
available at www.agilent.com/find/audioanalyzerpromo.
U.S. Pricing and Availability
