Half-duplex RS-485 transceivers for industrial applications from Maxim

Maxim has introduced the MAX14840E/MAX14841E, high-speed (40Mbps), half-duplex RS-485 transceivers for industrial applications with long cable runs.
The MAX14840E consists of symmetrical fail-safe receiver inputs and high (170mV) receiver hysteresis to improve noise rejection and signal recovery in high-speed and long-cable applications.
The MAX14841E has fail-safe receiver inputs that result in a logic-high receiver output when inputs are shorted or open.

These features of the MAX14840E/MAX14841E find use in harsh motor-control environments. Some of the other features include, it operates from a supply voltage of 3.3V and consists of ESD structures (±35kV, Human Body Model). Both devices are available in standard packages.

Operating temperature range: -40degC to +125degC.

Package: 8-pin SO and (3mm x 3mm), 8-pin TDFN.

Price: Prices start at US$1.49.
