Film-Film resistive touch panels from Fujitsu for mobile applications

Fujitsu has released a durable, Film-Film resistive touch panel series called FID-53X targeting mobile applications. Fujitsu says these plastic touch panels are 30-40% lighter than Film-Glass panels and can withstand high input loads.

The FID-53X series touch panels are constructed with a bottom layer of shatterproof polycarbonate plastic that is lightweight and durable. It also consists of a 4H, hard-tap cover film, which increases input load without damage from heavy writing pressure or repeated stylus tapping. Its film-film structure allows the panel shape to be customized for customer specific application. It targets applications in industrial handheld mobile terminals and computers. The panel's construction prevents the generation of parallax and includes Anti-Newton Ring treatment, resulting in good viewing ability. The panel specifications include a minimum input life of 1 million touches (4.5N), 75 to 85% transmissivity and +/- 3% linearity. It can also use a controller board, a controller IC and a device driver for each interfac.

Operating temperature range: -30 to 60 deg C

Price: They are priced from under US$10.00 each in 10,000-piece lots.
