BittWare readies roadmap for Altera's Stratix V FPGA based boards

BittWare has announced its next-generation family of board-level signal processing solutions, which will leverage Altera's 28-nm Stratix V family of FPGAs. The S5 family roadmap includes AdvancedMC boards targeting wireless communications applications, 3U and 6U ruggedized/conduction cooled VITA 46 (VPX) boards for military and aerospace applications such as radar, electronic warfare, etc.

"Altera's leadership is on display once again with the Stratix V family of FPGAs. Combined with their best-in-class development tools, the performance, density, connectivity, and power of this next generation propels Altera's high-end FPGAs far ahead of the competition," stated Jeff Milrod, President & CEO of BittWare. "We are honored to be the first partner to leverage this significant advance with our S5 family of COTS boards which, supported by our ATLANTiS FrameWork and BWIO software, will enable our customers to quickly implement and deploy Stratix V powered solutions."

The S5 family of COTS boards is a Stratix V FPGA, which facilitates all off-board I/O, while providing communications routing and processing. The FPGA supports many industry-standard protocols, including PCIe, Gen3, Gen2, and Gen1, 40G/100G Ethernet, Interlaken, 10GbE, XAUI, Gigabit Ethernet, Serial RapidIO, CPRI, 10G Basic (up to 12.5 Gbps), 6G Basic (up to 8.5 Gbps), and 3G Basic (up to 3.75 Gbps).

Availability: Scheduled to be available in 2011
