Enhanced tool from Agilent to design and verify LTE components

Agilent Technologies has enhanced its Signal Studio for 3GPP LTE and 89600 Vector Signal Analysis (VSA) software. The Signal Studio software runs on Agilent's signal generators and emulators and the VSA software runs on Agilent's analysis platforms.

The enhanced software supports new LTE standards and allows engineers to more accurately test their designs.

"As the leader in the measurement industry, Agilent is fully committed to providing engineers with the resources they need to create the next generation of mobile communication devices based on 3GPP LTE," said Guy Séné, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Microwave and Communications Division. "Our new software enhancements are a prime example of that leadership. As the 3GPP LTE standard matures, and LTE infrastructure is deployed, we will continue to honor that commitment by working to keep our customers at the forefront of this technology."

Both FDD and TDD versions of the Agilent's Signal Studio 3GPP LTE support the 3GPP December 2009 version of the standard and features for eNB and UE receiver stimulus. The updated eNB conformance test configurations perform all eNB Rx conformance tests. It also supports automatic downlink DCI channel coding based on PDSCH allocation, UE power control, UE scheduling and UE random access therefore one does not need to manually generate DCI messages in downlink signals. Agilent's 89600 VSA's additional features are that new in-band emissions and spectrum flatness traces have been added, both with pre-set limit lines for uplink conformance testing.

Two new analysis tools are also added to the software
1) Downlink control channel decode and auto-configuration. This tool provides new tables that can be used to verify information sent on the control channel.
2) UE-specific resource signal (RS) analysis. This tool is designed for LTE TDD. It allows the user to examine UE RS allocations separately or as a group.
