8-bit 1.8 volt MCUs with LCD controller for designing personal blood test meters

Fujitsu has announced the availability of three new series in its F2MC-8FX family of 8-bit microcontrollers with embedded flash memory and built in LCD controllers.

These new MCUs operating at 1.8 V can work with two 1.5 Volt batteries. The new products include six models with embedded LCD controllers in the 64-pin MB95370L series, six models in the 80-pin MB95310L series, and six with an I2C interface that has up to two channels in the 24-pin MB95350L series, for a total of 18 models in the three series.

By meeting the demand for microcontrollers with low-cost LCD controllers, this set of new MCUs are targeted for personal medical electronics devices, home appliances and factory automation applications. The products such as blood-pressure meters, blood-glucose meters, washing machines, microwave ovens, thermometers and pressure meters find this microcontroller chip more suitable.

The MB95370L and MB95310L series also packs full complement of timers, communication functions, high-precision A/D converters and oscillator circuits.

The MB95350L series is suggested for use as a sub-controller in television or air-conditioning remote-controller.

All the new models use 1-line on-chip debugging, minimizing the number of pins customers need to reserve for debugging when developing their products.

These devices are to be sampled in the month of May 2010 and production volumes in July 2010.
