Microsemi's new transistor for LCD TV power supply design

Microsemi has launched a new transistor coded APT15F50KF FREDFET for LCD TV power supply.

Key features of APT15F50KF are low trr (<190ns) for high reliability, fast switching low EMI, ultra low Crss for improved noise immunity, low gate charge, Qg and is avalanche energy rated.

Microsemi's CCFL controllers for small- to larger-sized LCD TVs include LX6503A and LX6523A. Microsemi says with simple external circuitry, the controllers can drive the APT15F50K/KF FREDFET in either push-pull, half-bridge, or full-bridge CCFL inverter configurations. Microsemi is offering complete LCD television backlight controller reference design, including description, circuit diagram schematics, bill-of-materials, Gerber files, and evaluation guidelines.

"By combining our new APT15F50K/KF FREDFET withLX6503A/LX6523A CCFL inverter controllers in this comprehensive reference design, we provide customers with a quick-to-market, optimized, turnkey LCD TV backlight system solution that brings outstanding performance, lower device count, and reduced cost to LCD TVs," said Philip Zuk, Marketing Manager in Microsemi's Power Products Group."
