New graphics card from AMD supporting
DirectX 11 gaming
AMD has introduced the ATI Radeon HD 5830, a new graphics
card that supports DirectX 11 gaming, ATI Eyefinity technology,
and ATI Stream capabilities.
ATI Radeon HD 5830's 40nm chip holds 2.15 billion transistors
and features TeraScale 2 unified processing architecture
supporting GDDR5 memory interface.
The other features include PCI Express 2.1 x16 bus interface,
OpenGL 3.2 support, Image quality enhancement technology,
ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU technology, ATI Avivo HD Video
& Display technology, ATI PowerPlay power management
technology, Certified drivers for Windows 7, Windows Vista,
and Windows XP
ATI Eyefinity technology can support up to 6 displays using
a single enabled ATI Radeon graphics card. This technology
works with games that support non-standard aspect ratios,
which is required for panning across multiple displays.
To enable more than two displays, additional panels with
native DisplayPort connectors, and/or certified DisplayPort
adapters to convert your monitor's native input to your
cards DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort connectors, are required.
