Extended high current power film capacitor
series from CDE for inverter apps
Cornell Dubilier (CDE) has extended its high current power
film capacitor series with the release of a Type 947C, a
new metallized polypropylene film capacitors that delivers
high capacitance, high voltage and high ripple current handling
capabilities required for inverters used in wind, solar,
fuel cell applications.
The new capacitor series to include more than 120 different
ratings with extended voltages up to 1300 Vdc and capacitance
values up to 1500 µF.
The key features of the Type 947C capacitor series are,
Non-polar dielectric
Dry, resin filled
High reliability and life expectancy
Replacement for aluminum electrolytic capacitors (low capacitance,
high current)
High current to 100 Amps
Low ESR and Inductance
"The extended voltage ratings and case sizes provide
design engineers with more options for power film capacitors
in inverter applications where higher ripple current ratings
are required," said Laird Macomber, technology manager
at Cornell Dubilier. "These higher voltage and current
ratings eliminate the need for multiple aluminum electrolytics
across the bus and greatly improve reliability and lower
cost."
Operating temperature range: -40 ºC to 85 ºC
Price: Starts at each $35 in OEM quantities
