Fairchild Semiconductor extends 3.3V optocoupler
selection for high-speed industrial apps
With the introduction of FODM8061 and FODM8071, Fairchild
Semiconductor has expanded its 3.3V optocoupler products
to offer high isolation, strong noise immunity and high
performance. The FODM8061 with open collector output and
the FODM8071 with logic gate output suitable for industrial
applications operate in harsh environments where electrical
signals are processed in the presence of transients or continuous
high voltages.
The key features of these optocoupler devices are,
High common mode noise immunity (CMR) of 20kV/µs
minimum
Operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V
Offers logic-level translation
Certified by UL1577 and IEC60747-5-2 standards
Fairchild says that Isolators, such as optocouplers, are
instrumental in avoiding downtime from unexpected errors
due to noise. These optocouplers create robust systems with
low transmission error rates, low system failure rates and
high reliability over extended periods of time.
