Microchip has launched 18 bit ADC in SOT-23 package

The Microchip’s new 18-bit Delta-Sigma Analog to Digital Converter MCP3421 consumes low current of 155 micro-Amps at 5V continuous conversion. It has an integrated voltage reference and Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA), saving you a few external components. The device uses an I2C compatible serial interface and operates from a single power supply of  2.7V to 5.5V.
This ADC is best suited for portable measurement applications in industrial, medical, consumer and automotive markets. The low power consumption extends the battery life. Because of the onboard PGA the user can select the gains of x1, x2, x4 or x8 before the analog-to-digital conversion takes place, this leads to high-resolution conversion even for smaller inputs.

Package: SOT23
Availability: Now in production volumes
Price: each $1.71 for 10k pieces
